With deer hunting arriving shortly, it’s time to stock up. We have camping supplies, optics, clothing, footwear and rifles on the shelf. Saturday, July 14th is the start of archery season in A Zone. Rifle season opens shortly after on August 11th. By the sound of it, we are in for a good season in all zones. If you are not into traveling far from home we have some of the best hunting locally. Zones D3-D5 on the river bottom can be very productive for trophy deer.

Having the right gun is only the start of it. Match your rifle with premium optics. Sworovski scopes are top of the line and have superior visibility under the worst conditions. We also have Leupold, Sightron, Bushnell and others. Rangefinders are a must in the field and can be a hunter’s best friend. Leupold rangefinders with (TBR) true ballistics range, keeps you from guessing. They provide bow and rifle hunters with correct range for precise shooting on an incline or decline.

Having the right caliber rifle can make all the difference between a successful hunt or coming home empty handed. If you’re hunting in open country, small calibers can be useful for making long range shots on smaller bucks. If you’re hunting on the river bottoms, remember that rifles are not permitted on public land; only shotguns with a slug barrel are legal. Bigger Calibers are an advantage on the river to keep your game form getting away in that jungle. We carry a wide variety of slugs and rifle ammunition for all your hunting needs. We Stock Federal, Winchester, Remington and Hornady.

Need a new rifle this season? Choose from Browning, Benelli, Remington, Ruger, CZ USA, Savage, TC. We have a wide variety including Browning’s mountain rifles that are made out of titanium so they’re light weight and easy to carry. It’s the perfect hiking rifle or spot and stock gun. Browning is making hunting for your trophy a little easier putting the right gear on your shoulder.

Tents and sleeping bags go together like poison oak and calamine and having the right equipment makes hunting more enjoyable. Shirts and jackets are also a necessity. We have all your favorite patterns and styles. While getting your gear, strap on a new pair of Danner boots. High quality and waterproof, they will keep your feet dry and comfortable. Made with premium material they will last a lot longer than your deer jerky. Choose your pair today and be hunting this year and years to come in comfort.

While you are in the hunting spirit, don’t forget your accessories. We have a wide variety of game bags in all sizes. We have calls for all critters. Remember that deer think you stink. So eliminate your scent with scent blockers and clothes wash as well as scent attractants. We have a great selection of skinning knives. Kershaw, Benchmade, and Browning are just a few. Also get rope and gambrle to hang and clean your deer.

Make sure that while hunting this season you have the proper gear. Warm weather and hiking can put a strain on your body. Always carry food and water, a cell phone, flares, flashlight and a poncho and make sure to be safe. Having all the necessities can make hunting much more enjoyable and safe.
